Fethiye Horse Riding takes place in a really unique place – the abandoned town of Kayakey. This lovely ghost town is just a stone's throw from Fethiye and offers some truly breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Up on a mountain, nestled amongst the cedar and pine trees, you'll find thousand empty houses. This was once a Greek settlement, but sadly, since 1923, no one has lived here. The Greek people were sent back to their homeland, and the Turks did not settle here. Accompanied by a friendly animal, you will walk along narrow stony paths and take in the atmosphere of this fascinating place. During the trip, you will be surrounded by picturesque landscapes, silence, enchanting birdsong, and the fresh, clean air with aromas of herbs, flowers, resin, and pine.
The lovely horses are kept at the wonderful equestrian club. They are the sweetest, most well-mannered, well-groomed, specially trained horses you could ever wish to meet – and they're also completely peaceful! These lovely, noble animals will be more than happy to keep you company on an exciting ride! Before we set off, we'll run through all the safety rules, how to communicate with horses and give you a masterclass in riding. So, if you've never done it before, don't worry – it's easy and simple! During the trip, you'll have a professional instructor by your side, who will be there to help you if you need it.

No. It's one of the safety rules. Photos are taken by our operators. Your phones will need to be left in the safe.
Is a driving licence required?
No driver's licence required. After a briefing and a test drive, our instructor will decide whether you can take part as a driver or as a passenger.
Are there showers, changing cubicles and safes?
Our base has fresh water showers, a cafeteria where you can buy various souvenirs, snacks and drinks, changing cabins and safes where you can leave your valuables.

5Wunderschöner Ausritt! Die Landschaft rund um Hisaronu ist atemberaubend — Kiefernwälder, Olivenhaine und in der Ferne das türkisblaue Meer. Die Guides waren sehr freundlich und geduldig. Für Anfänger wie uns war es perfekt — die Pferde sind ruhig und gutmütig. Eine Stunde vergeht leider sehr schnell. Ein toller Ausflug für die ganze Familie!

Our guide was helpful and made sure everyone was comfortable before setting off. Perfect for families or anyone wanting a gentle outdoor activity. 4Balade à cheval agréable dans les collines autour de Hisaronu. Le paysage est vraiment beau — forêts de pins, oliviers, vue sur la mer. Les guides étaient attentionnés et patients avec les débutants. Les chevaux sont calmes et dociles, idéaux pour les familles. On sent qu’ils travaillent beaucoup et auraient besoin de plus de repos, mais la promenade reste une belle expérience.

3Mixed experience. The location near Hisaronu is genuinely beautiful and the guides were friendly enough. However, the horses looked quite tired and one of them seemed reluctant to move at all. I understand they work hard every day but it did take some of the enjoyment away. The hour itself was pleasant but I expected the horses to be in better condition. Scenery was the highlight.

My horse was a bit slow and tired-looking — felt a little sorry for it to be honest. That aside, the experience was enjoyable and the location is beautiful.
