Side has one airport gateway — Antalya — and at 65 kilometres from the terminal, it's one of the closer major resorts on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. In a private vehicle with no stops, the journey takes around 60 minutes. On a shared shuttle that collects other passengers along the way, the same distance can take two hours or more.

The difference matters more at the beginning and end of a holiday than at any other point. After a long flight, particularly with children or heavy luggage, the last thing most travellers want is to wait while a bus fills up, then sit through a series of hotel stops across the Antalya coast. All incoming flights are monitored automatically — if your flight is delayed, your driver adjusts accordingly and waits at arrivals with your name on a board. The price is fixed at the point of booking, with no extras for luggage, late arrivals, or toll roads.
